Homepage Overview
Content > Pages > Index
The "Index" template is your homepage template and is assigned automatically to your home page. In the CMS, your homepage will be titled "Index" and cannot be changed. This template operates the same as your "Subpage Fullwidth" template.
The home page (Index) works using various modules and elements throughout Ekklesia. The basics are:
- Header area: three options - static image, looping/muted background video or image rotator
- Your Gateway: this is a hard coded area below the header on your homepage
- Sections: nine fullwidth sections available (utilizing monklets)
Header Area
The header options for your homepage are the same for your subpage templates: static image, looping/muted background video or image rotator.
Optional Header Fields
The field "Header Text" adds content overtop of your static header image or background video. This works the same as the page content field, so you can include text, buttons, etc.
This "Header Overlay" check box option will add a dark overlay to your header image or background video, so the text overtop is more visible.
The "Header Large" check box option is being used on the homepage to display a taller header image.
Your Gateway
Content > Links Lists > Home - Gateway
Within the link list, there is one first level item labeled "Gateway", and the description field in this item is used to managed the "your Gateway to" text. No other fields are used for this first level item.
Below the "Gateway" item, there are 3 second level items for Grow, Love and Worship. Within each item, the following fields are used:
- Name - controls the bold title
- Link - controls the button link
- Button text - controls the button text. This must be populated if a link is added.
- Sub Title - controls the description text
Note - this info is hard coded to display below the header area on your homepage.
Sections
The rest of the page is controlled via sections, and the homepage sections function the same way as the "Subpage Fullwidth" template.
Home - Countdown
COUNTDOWN TIMER

The timer will count down to the next event with the "Live Event" category assigned. Once the event start time occurs, the timer will show the "live" version. Once the event has ended, the timer will automatically start counting down to the next live event.
