The homepage uses the "Subpage Fullwidth" template. This template works the same as your main homepage in regards to the header and section options.

There are two subpage templates available to display for the subsite, which will display the separate logo, header, footer, etc.  These two templates work the same as your default subpage templates regarding the header and section options. 

These are labeled:

• School Subpage Default
• School Subpage Fullwidth

When creating pages specific to the subsite, you'll want to assign the "School" group to the page.
