The template "Small Groups Template" is a cutom layout uses groups populated from Church Community Builder (CCB) that have a group type of "Community Groups".   A cron job is setup on your site to pull group updates from CCB nightly.

Location Filter - Uses the CCB "Campus" field.

Life Stage - Uses the CCB "LG Category" Field.

Day - Uses the CCB "Meeting Day" field.
