Monklets

Overview

Monklets are predefined code snippets that can allow you to bring in other module content (sermons, blog posts, etc.) into your pages. You can use a monklet inside a section by placing your cursor in the content area and selecting Insert > Insert Monklet > "Name of Monklet"

This monklet presents a list of featured events in a carousel-style, horizontal format, and it's intended to be used on either of the Default templates, inside the main content area. Keep in mind: you can use the monklet on multiple pages throughout the site, and each instance can reference a different Link List, if desired.

To manage the events that will display in the rotator, setup a new Link List and use the following fields to manually add each event:

  • Name (name of event)
  • Description (summary of event),
  • Image (675 x 370 pixels)
  • Link (event detail page)
  • Event Dates (Example: Sunday, August 20, 2017, 11:45 AM - 1:00 PM)

Once your Link List is ready, add the following monklet code to your page, right where you'd like the Event Rotator to appear: {{featured-events-rotator|find="slug-name-of-link-list"}}

Note: A "slug" is the name of a page/sermon/section/link list/etc., with all the letters lowercased, and each word joined with a hyphen. Example: Community Outreach Events ... "community-outreach-events"
