Section Monklets

Overview

Monklets are predefined code snippets that allow you to bring in other module content (sermons, events, etc.) into your pages.  There are a few monklets that have been created that are placed in the content area of your full width sections.

You can use a monklet inside a section by placing your cursor in the content area, selecting Insert > Insert Monklet > "Desired Monklet".

Some monklets allow/require inline parameters to be passed to define items from a specific group, category, etc.  http://help.monkcms.com/article/using-monklets/ and https://help.ekklesia360.com/article/using-inline-parameters/ provides details on using these parameters.

Used in a full width section to display a featured event with an image in either the right or left column.  Images should be either a 16:9 (eg. 1,024p by 576px) ratio or 4:3 (eg. 1,024p by 768px).  The 16:9 will display at a smaller height resolution and the 4:3 a little larger.

  • Section Monklet - Featured Events (1) Fullwidth - Left Image
  • Section Monklet - Featured Events (1) Fullwidth - Right Image

Displays up to 8 events published as featured.

*NOTE - You can use the find_category or find_group inline parameters as needed.

Displays the most recent story published as featured to the "Stories" parent category.  The article Header Image is used as the background and the summary displays as the blockquote text.  The header image should follow the page header image specs.

Displays the 2 most recent articles published as featured to the "Stories" parent category.  Images for all stories should be the same size.  Images should be either a 16:9 (eg. 1,024p by 576px) ratio or 4:3 (eg. 1,024p by 768px).  The 16:9 will display at a smaller height resolution and the 4:3 a little larger.

Displays rows of image links from a link list.  Make sure to use the find inline parameter to define which link list to use.  Make sure all images in a specific link list use the same dimensions/size.  Images can be whatever size is needed, but a good recommendation is to be either a 16:9 (eg. 1,024p by 576px) ratio or 4:3 (eg. 1,024p by 768px).  The 16:9 will display at a smaller height resolution and the 4:3 a little larger.

  • Section Monklet - Fullwidth Ministry Links - (2) - displays rows of two image links with border.
  • Section Monklet - Fullwidth Ministry Links - (3) - displays rows of three image links with border.
  • Section Monklet - Fullwidth Ministry Links - (4) - displays rows of four image links with border.
  • Section Monklet - Fullwidth Ministry Links - 1 Row - displays a single row of image links with no border.  It is recommended that no more than 4 or 5 are used.

Section Monklet - Locations

This uses a custom link list monklet to display your custom location sections.  The description should contain a section and a monklet.  The custom field Button Text should contain your iframe code from Snazzy Maps (<iframe src="https://snazzymaps.com/embed/145100" width="100%" height="550px" style="border:none;"></iframe>).  The button text field is used to prevent creating additional custom fields for a single use case.

The section should contain the normal wysiwyg text that displays in the content column.  The descrption option will contain the monklet "Section Monklet - Locations".  This monklet is a list of all locations entered into the Churches module under the People tab.  Each church entry represents a location and uses the name, website and description fields.  This monklet displays in the mobile view since the iframe is hidden on this view.

Once the section is created you will place the slug of the section and the slug of the monklet in the description field with curly braces.   When your link list is created you will create the section to be used on the home page, insert one of the monklets below, and use the find tag to define which link list to use.
