Section Monklets

Monklets are predefined code snippets that allow you to bring in other module content (sermons, events, etc.) into your pages.  You can use a monklet inside a section by placing your cursor in the content area, selecting Insert > Insert Monklet > "Desired Monklet".

Some monklets allow/require inline parameters to be passed to define items from a specific group, category, link list, etc.

Note: Monklets defined with "Section Monklet" in the title can be inserted in the content area of a section used in a full width section. Monklets defined with "Sidebar Monklet" in the title can be inserted in the content area of a section used in the sidebar.

Monklets labeled with "section" or "sidebar" in the title can be used throughout the site. However, if you purchase any premium layouts, monklets included with those layouts will only be available for use with the respective layouts. 

Media > Rotator

Displays an image rotator with the content panel on the left side. The images are displayed in the right column and the name, caption and optional button display to the left. In the left panel, the bar pagination dots are how the user can rotate through the slides.

The name of the rotator will display in the blue tab.

When using this monklet, the "find" inline parameter is required in order to specify which rotator to use.

Note: all images within a rotator should be the same size, and the recommended image Size - 1,560px width by 1,040px height.

Section Monklet - Content Rotator Arrows

Media > Rotator

Displays similar to "Section Monklet - Content Rotator" but uses pagination arrows with the image area instead.

Recommended Image Size - 1,560px width by 1,040px height.

When using this monklet, the "find" inline parameter is required in order to specify which rotator to use.

Section Monklet - Linked Image (2), (3) or (4)

Displays linked images from the Link List module in rows of 2, 3 or 4.  The find inline parameter is required, the Description field is the optional overlay text.

Section Monklet - Latest Sermon

**Used in the "Home - Sermon" section

Content > Sermons

Displays the most recent sermon.  You can use the find_group to display sermons from a specific group or the find_category inline parameter to display sermons from a specific category.

Displays an embedded video assigned to the link.  The find inline parameter is required.

Section Monklet - Staff Row (3)

Displays all users assigned to a specific group in rows of 3.  Requires find_group inline parameter.

**Used in the "Home - Events" section

Events > Events

Displays the 4 most recent featured events.  The featured monklet only displays those published as featured.  You can use the find_group to display events from a specific group or the find_category inline parameter to display events from a specific category.

Settings > Link Lists

Displays linked items from the Link List module in rows of 4. These appear in card format with the Name as the heading, the Description field as the text and the url field will display as a button and requires the button text. 

Images for all links should be the same ratio (re. 16:9, 4:3, etc.) to display the same size in the row of cards.

When using this monklet, the "find" inline parameter is required in order to specify which link list to use.

Section Monklet - Linked Buttons

**Used in the "Home - Welcome Buttons" section

Displays linked items from the Link List module as large custom button links.  The find inline parameter is required.   The Sub Title displays in the smaller top heading with the link Name as the larger heading.  Each link should also have a url assigned.

**Used in the "Home - About" section

Displays custom about links/cards in a featured row from the Link List module.  The find inline parameter is required.   The section that uses this monklet should not contain any addional content as the top of the cards is raised to the top of the section.


  • The Name is the top card tag 
  • The icon class is used for the featured icon
  • The Sub Title and Description fields display under the icon
  • The Button Text is used to display the button
  • If a url is assigned the entire card is linkable

The sidebar monklets can be used with the Sidebar Sections on the Subpage Default template.

Displays the most recent article. You can use the find_group to display sermons from a specific group or the find_category inline parameter to display sermons from a specific category.

Displays all users assigned to a specific group.  Requires find_group inline parameter.

Sidebar Monklet - Latest Article

Displays the most recent article. You can use the find_group to display articles from a specific group or the find_category inline parameter to display articles from a specific category.
