Subpage Templates
Subpage Layout
The "Subpage Layout" template is the default subpage that came with the MK021 design theme. It displays your content on the left and navigation menu on the right (showing the first, second and third level navigation items). You can also include up to 3 sidebar sections below the navigation area.
Subpage Fullwidth With Tabs
This template displays your content full width on the page and also includes tabs below the header image to toggle between content. Within each tab, the content, images, etc pull from various sections: Content > Sections.
Page Settings
Within the page settings, the following fields/areas are used for this template:
- Title and Description: displays overtop of the header image/looping video
- Header Logo (optional): displays a logo graphic over the header image/looping video
- Header Video: displays a background (looping) video in the header area
- Hide Title and Description (optional): removes the page title and description from display in the header area - this needs to be selected when using a Header Logo
- High Res Header Image (optional): only need inconjunction with a header video and will display as the preview image while the video is loading
- Parallax (optional): adds parallax scroling functionality to the header image
- Tab 1 and Tab 2: titles for the two tabs in the header area
- Header Image: displays a static header image. If you are using a header video, this will either be the preview image or a low res GIF file for mobile
- Template: needs to be set to the "subpage fullwidth with tabs" template
Sections
The content for each tab is comprised of different sections, which are specified in the Sections area of the page and display in the order listed. Each tab can include up to 5 sections.
The page content area is not used for this layout, since all content pulls from the sections.
Within each section, the following fields/options are available:
- Name: for internal use only
- Content: WYSIWYG editor that supports all text, media, links, etc.
- Custom Image: displays an image behind the section content and replaces the background color
- Dark Background: inverts the section content to show white text on a dark background
- Parallax Background: adds parallax scrolling functionality
Creating Column Content
To display content within a section in two or more columns (similar to the Upcoming Events section with images on the right and content on the left), you can use the Grid Generator tool: http://www.newspring.org/grid-generator/. This will create the code structure for 2-4 columns of content. Simply add the info to the source code of your page and then replace the sample content with your own.
Another option is to copy the existing Upcoming Events section and then you can start with the existing content/structure to work from in your new one. Just make sure to rename the new section!
Subpage Fullwidth Sections
This template will also display your content full width on the page. The makeup of the layout is very similar to the "subpage fullwidth with tabs" template, but the sections will display down the page and not under separate tabs.
