Section Monklets

Overview

Monklets are predefined code snippets that allow you to bring in other module content (sermons, events, etc.) into your pages.  There are a few monklets that have been created that are placed in the content area of your full width sections.

You can use a monklet inside a section by placing your cursor in the content area, selecting Insert > Insert Monklet > "Desired Monklet".

Some monklets allow/require inline parameters to be passed to define items from a specific group, category, etc.  http://help.monkcms.com/article/using-monklets/ and https://help.ekklesia360.com/article/using-inline-parameters/ provides details on using these parameters.

*NOTE - Monklets defined with "Section Monklet" in the title can be inserted in the page content area or the content area of a section.

Spanish Templates

Most monklets can apply to the Spanish templates except where language changes were needed.  Those have been noted below.

Section Monklet - Callout, Section Monklet - Callout Blue, Section Monklet - Callout Green, Section Monklet - Callout Teal

Displays a callout feature from a link list.  The find inline parameter is required.  The description is the callout text and the button text is required to display the link button.  If an image is assinged to the link it will display in the left column.

*NOTE - the default "Section Monklet - Callout" displays without a color.  The other monklet options have the color in the monklet name.

Section Monklet - Campuses

Displays a list of all church entries that are setup as campuses.

Displays the most recent event.  You can use the find_group and find_category inline parameters as needed. The "Right Media" monklet displays the image on the right.

Displays the most recent event published as featured.  You can use the find_group and find_category inline parameters as needed.

*NOTE - Displays full width of the screen and a section containing this monklet should not contain additional content.

Spanish version - "Section Monklet - Featured Event (1) Full Width (Spanish)"

Section Monklet - Latest Events (3)

Displays the 3 most recent events.  You can use the find_group and find_category inline parameters as needed.

This uses the link list "Events #4 Categories" to find a matching category icon.  Each item in this link list should have a color in the description area for the events #4 layout AND an icon class.

Section Monklet - Invite and Section Monklet - Invite Right Media

Displays a share feature from a link list.  The find inline parameter is required.  The "Right Media" monklet displays the image on the right.

*NOTE - Recommended image size is 1,024px in width by 576 tall.

Displays alternating featured rows from a link list.  The find inline parameter is required.

Each link represents a row.  The image alternates columns starting at the right for the first column.  Each link can have an optional sub heading, description and link.  If the link is used the button text field is required.  You can also leave these options blank and assign a section to the description area to display full html content.  Once a section is created you will place the slug of the section in the corresponding link description field with curly braces.   If you create a section labeled "My Section" the link description field should contain the slug as {{my-section}}.

*NOTE - Images for each link in a link list should be the same size.  Recommended size is 1,520px in width by 1,200px tall.

**NOTE - Displays full width of the screen and a section containing this monklet should not contain additional content.

Section Monklet - Recent Sermon (1) and Section Monklet - Recent Sermon (1) Right Media

Displays the most recent sermon.  You can use the find_group and find_category inline parameters as needed. The "Right Media" monklet displays the video/image on the right.

Section Monklet - Sermon Tabs

Uses a link list to display tabs of specific sermon categories.  This supports up to 3 mid size tabs.

  • Name - The table title.
  • Description - This should be the category slug to use with the tab.  The tab will display the most recent sermon from that category.

*NOTE - Displays full width of the screen and a section containing this monklet should not contain additional content.

Section Monklet - Recent Sermon (1) Full Width

Displays the most recent sermon.  You can use the find_group and find_category inline parameters as needed.

*NOTE - Displays full width of the screen and a section containing this monklet should not contain additional content.

Spanish version - "Section Monklet - Recent Sermon (1) Full Width (Spanish)"

This monklet is a two column setup with text on the left and a list of links on the right. This is managed via a link list (Content > Link Lists).

>> LEFT COLUMN CONTENT -  this should be a first level item in the link list, and the following fields are used:

  • Name: controls the column heading
  • Link: controls the button link
  • Description: controls the text area
  • Button text: controls the button text. This is required to display the button
  • Sub Heading: controls the smaller heading above the name

>> RIGHT COLUMN LINKS - the second level items control the list of links on the right hand side, and the following fields are used: name, link, image and sub heading.

To use this feature, the "Section Monklet - Content Links" monklet needs to be added to a section, and the "find" inline parameter must be used to specify the link list.

ex: {{section-monklet-column-links|find="column-content-linklist"}}
